FREE STANDING SYSTEMS

THE ENCLOSURE

Free standing control and monitoring systems are enclosed within powder coated 100mm plinth mounted, Rittal TS8 enclosures and sized to allow a minimum of 20% future expansion.

Standard features include, door activated internal fluorescent lights, internal door mounted lecturns, wiring plan pockets, door stays, one 10A rated 240VAC dual GPO, 240VAC power supply failure relay, bottom mounted gland plates, cable clamp rails and cable clamps

Options include, door mounted viewing windows, ventilation grills, ventilation fans and over temperature trip relay.

POWER

240VAC isolation is via a triple pole DIN mounted MCB, ensuring complete and total isolation from the main power feed. Distribution of 240VAC power within the enclosure is derived from multiple double pole DIN mounted MCB’s, one per device.

24VDC power within the enclosure is distributed via multiple single pole DIN mounted MCB’s, one per device. All 24VDC MCB's are fed from dual redundant 10A rated 240VAC/24VDC power supplies.

All MCB’s are grouped and indentified by labels fitted to DIN rail mounted carriers, segregated according to purpose and located on the uppermost DIN rails within the enclosure and behind removable clear perspex covers to avoid accidental tripping by maintenance or operations personnel.

CABLING

Cabling within these enclosures is flexible stranded annealed copper with PVC insulation. All power cables for both AC and DC voltages are 2.5mm2, all signal cables are 1.0mm2 while earth cables are 6mm2. All cables are individually terminated by ferrule or lug and colour coded to suit ISO3000 supporting sleeved cable identifiers with printed inserts conforming to specific numbering requirements based on schematics.

RELAYS

All 24VDC control relays within the system enclosure are DIN rail mounted slim line change over types rated to switch a 6A load. Relay coil active indicators are also provided as standard.

DUCTWORK

All ducting within this enclosure is open channel slotted grey with removable covers, the duct will be sized to allow for an increased capacity of at least 40% while at no time are LV and ELV conductors carried in the same duct.

TERMINATIONS

All DIN rails are heavy duty TS-35 raised above the enclosure gear plate on 25mm bushes.
All DIN rail mounted terminals are grouped and sequentially numbered, indentified by labels fitted to DIN rail mounted carriers and segregated according to purpose and I/O type.
Each individual I/O of each I/O group is protected with isolation either by its own DIN mounted 500mA fuse link located within the respective I/O group, or by disconnect terminals located within the field terminations. All field terminals are 2.5mm disconnect, all control terminals are 2.5mm feed through, all power and fused terminals are 6.0mm feed through. At no time are power and signal terminals mounted on the same DIN rail within 150mm from each other.

EARTHING

Clearly identified and labelled individual earthing systems encompass protective, instrument and intrinsic safety earth are incorporated as required.
DIN rail supporting the 240VAC power supply terminals is securely fastened to the enclosure gear plate providing for panel wide conductivity. Protective earth is accessed via an earth bar located at the top of the enclosure and fixed hard wired earth lines are connected to each enclosure panel.
DIN rail supporting all signal I/O terminals utilise 25mm insulated bushes enabling the DIN rail to act as a conductor between signal earth terminals providing an isolated instrument earth for each of I/O cable screen in which an instrument earth line can be attached.
DIN rail supporting all intrinsic safety I/O terminals utilise 25mm insulated bushes enabling the DIN rail to act as a conductor between "IS" earth terminals providing an "IS" earth for each of I/O cable screen in which an "IS" earth line can be attached.

NAMEPLATE AND IDENTIFICATION

All names plates are 2mm thick as minimum, three layered chamfered traffolyte or similar and attached on or near all equipment within the enclosure including all ductwork. All DIN rails are labelled with group markers, all terminals are numbered and all cables will be labelled with sleeved identifiers supporting printed inserts conforming to specific numbering requirements based on schematics provided or generated.
