Milk powder, coal dust and caustic are just a few of the things that settle onto a milk processing factory roof. When the roof is the size of a three football fields side by side, environmental protection authorities and local communities take note when even the lightest rain washes everything into rivers and waterways contaminating eco-structures.

Unlike a first flush system, this system continually monitors turbidity and pH of this "storm water" using analytical instrumentation and PLC control equipment for diversion when conditions are not favourable for discharge.

When this occurs the water is prevented from entering the local river and is pumped to a treatment facility to ensure only clean water leaves the plant. Self cleaning probes and sensors ensure no algal build up occurs in order to maintain high accuracy without measurement error.
