The SmartTell INFO farm information system is a PLC/HMI based stand alone telemetry system that utilises a combination of hardware, software and radio communication. The system is designed to look at virtually every aspect of property management and letting you know what's going on even when your not there, from grain silo and milk vat levels to electric fence activation and anything in between. Data and information for any monitored variable is automatically sent to a the HMI screen via radio link irrespective of where you are or what your doing.
One of the many advantages of the SmartTell INFO farm information system, is that it can automatically notify suppliers with time stamped emails when grain silos reach pre-determined low levels to request a refill. The emails can also carry information relating to consumption and not just a “refill now” requirement, giving the supplier the opportunity to check their stocks and maintain adequate levels in storage. A text message such as, “grain silo No2 at 25%, supplier has been contacted”, is then sent to your mobile phone. A follow up message of, “grain silo No2 has been refilled”, with the quantity or amount of grain used to refill the silo can also be sent on the same message, all time and date stamped for record keeping. The system can also let you know when the milk tanker arrived and how much milk it picked up.
The other side of the combination is a radio telemetry system that uses small solar powered battery backed transmitters located in virtually any location around the farm. Within a line of sight distance of up to 30km they constantly monitor the status of a host of conditions and send a radio signal to the main system when any conditions change. This means that if an electric fence has stopped operating, if a gate has been left open or if a water pump isn’t running, a signal is sent to the main system and an alarm activates sending a text message to your phone.
